The World Generation Pack. Use it to make more natural looking randomly generated maps.

Download:

1.1:
-Made the detailed ground invisible during the winter

1.2:
-Removed the previous update because it caused a bug with regular decor for some reason

I do not know if this is possible, but it would be cool if the scenery spawned in certain places.
For example, flowers form a separate flower clearing without voluns and small lakes, as the stones and fallen trees spawn on the "hills." We have "biomes" or something similar to them.
In any case, a good job, this will definitely add realism, but I would remove some decorations which are very distinguished from the normal background of the earth.

Unfortunately, I don't think biomes would really be possible.

We already have biomes
Didn't you notice how different places are on new maps? In my city, I have a big, dry land with very little amount of trees, while on other part I have a green, dense forest.
That's true.
New maps have something like a (fake) elevation as well. The lower parts are more brownish while the higher parts are more deeply green. The same is true for trees. The smaller dark green trees are built in the lower areas and the big light green trees are built in higher elevation areas.
Notice how this corresponds to how the tree texture png is organized. The small dark trees are the left most trees while the large light green trees are on the right of that image.

These differences in grass color make it look like it's a real height map :)

Yes, game also creates fake hills. It was added long ago. Game has 3 ids for ground, Lobby said it was kind of a mistake (ground, dirt, grass I think), but now it's very nice to see that kind of different terrains and different trees.
Yes, I like this varied terrain too.
But there is also a downside to it: In the terrain menu we just have one type of grass terrain (the deep green) and of the water. If you start terraforming your map, this becames immediately visible in certain areas.
So, we would need the other grass/water types in the terrain menu as well @Lobby, @Lobbu ;)

No need for Lobbeu, I have the ground code, just have to erase "hidden": true and magic happens :)
Will release it as a plugin later
Everything is hidden.

I was talking about biomes from plug-ins. Yes, it's technically possible with plug-ins, but not to a degree that makes it look good.

Here's a new link:

My old website is nearly abandoned by this point, which is probably why the original link doesn't work. Just be warned, I don't think this plug-in supports winter mode.
