Maybe a bigger or more noticeable notification when you get a PM, it's very easy to not realise you have a pm right now without a notification

What browser are you using? You should get a pop-up notification about new messages. Maybe your browser just ignores it.

Opera, I was thinking a forum notification like when you log in it will say you have a new message or something

You can set it to get an email notification also. I get an audible ping with that.

Lol I finally figured this one out,

I turned off pop up ads on my browser, apparantly the notification is a pop up therefore my browser blocks it, sorry for not noticing
