Scarred land occurs after a fire, meteor, earthquake, or tornado.
A great swath of scarred land occurs when there is a nuclear strike.

Rioters will sometimes start fires, also creating scarred land.

Did you know you need not remove scarred land for schools, hospitals, medics, parks, or churches? They build on top. Fire departments, police, electrics also.

This can be useful if the fire department doesn't reach a fire in time and you decide to place one there as the screen will already be centered at the building site.

You may also remove scarred land in an imprecise way by causing a flood at the site.

I put it here because I am planning to change my signature.

I never noticed that fact before I saw it in your signature and tested it. There was no special intention to implement it that way, but it's good for convenience 8)

Especially if rioters go around setting fire to public buildings.
