Hey guys,
did you hear what happened the other day? I'm telling you, strange things are going on in good ol' Theotown...

This time I have a little treat for all TV-show junkies on here:
Rumor has it, that this plugin is the headquarters of some sinister government agency which performs top-secret psychic experiments. But nobody knows for sure, of course...
The only things that are really known about it are probably these:
The building sits on an 8x8 lot. Yes, 8x8, man up! It seems to be an award and it obviously requires the military missile silo to be built (well, that sounds reasonable...).

The plugin also contains trees and cars by Lobby and Theo!

You also need MyRedLight animation, which you can download below:

(3.44 KiB) Downloaded 1989 times
For more information go here: http://www.theotown.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=4476
THE BUILDING WON'T WORK WITHOUT THIS ANIMATION PRESENT IN YOUR PLUGIN FOLDER!
BUT, IF YOU ALREADY DOWNLOADED THE ANIMATION BEFORE, DON'T DOWNLOAD IT AGAIN!

Well, you know...
To a bright future!

edit:
Yes, I'm a bad example. No chance to deny it. I'm sorry.
I added the necessary credits.

Please include your flashing red light in each plugin! This is getting annoying.

I don't really see the problem to be honest.
What is so hard about reading the description and then following a link? You only need to do it once and that's it.
Installing the same animation multiple times is an unnecessary waste of space.

Yes, please!
People are making too much non-needed categories and animations separaterely.
Just include them in the plugin and use "only once":true to avoid errors.
"only once" or "override"?
I've just created a copy of my animation-folder and added "only once" to both of them and it produced an error.
"override" seemed to work for two folders.

No, doesn't work for me.

"once":true will ensure that your plugin will be read in one time at max. Can be useful for shared categories for example. You might put the categories plugin into each single plugin that uses it but it will still be defined only one time at max if you define your categories with once.
Maybe the public version doesn't support it yet?
If so, it would be another argument not to do it that way for now...
I mean, I see the point in making a plugin fool-proof and convenient, but I think a plugin should be available to all players not only beta-testers.
If that means, that people need to take some responsibility, like reading a description and checking if they already downloaded a dependency before or not, then I think that's acceptable.

True, public version doesn't support it yet.
Thought you used the beta version, oops :ugeek:
Well, I thought about it, but until now I preferred having a tested and "bugfree" version. ;)
Maybe I will use the beta version in the near future, but the availability-argument remains valid nonetheless.

No, doesn't work for me.
By the way, what exactly is the difference between "once" and "override"?
Does "override" not work for more than two IDs, or why is "once" necessary?

The tag

Code: Select all

"once:true"
allows you to define the same id in multiple places, but only the first one encountered is used. The tag

Code: Select all

"override:true"
would do the same thing, but only the last one encountered is used.

But, don't quote me. :)
