Road maintenance

#1

Post by Josh »

I have this idea: In real life roads go from black to gray asphalt because of the driving cars. So why not add this in theotown. How busier the road how faster the asphalt turns gray.

Bonus idea: Road maintenance depot with road maintenance vehicles to replace the asphalt on the road.

Again...
1. Textures for worn out roads plus stages. ALL roads.
2. Textures for that maintenance car and depot.
3. Not really that a problem, code.
4.Pretty imposssible to maintain as the traffic in game was insane.

Have the road sprites start off white, and the code turns them to a dark grey, then they begin to get lighter and lighter via code.

1. Meh, ''Abandoned roads''? that will look weird..
2. Time baby, time.
3. :bq
4. What? you like stupid spams of people complaining, ''Hey roads suck, fix it or well never drive/use it''? Plus again, its very hard to maintain, as traffic in game was always heavy. Youll surely end up getting a ''fix road'' notification every minute and worse traffic as more cars were being stuck because of bad roads and then, other roads being bad, like a domino.

Qoute fail
Even the problem dissappear for a while, like crimes, few seconds later, another one. Also, think of the consequences of ignoring it (unusable roads everywhere, spams, etc.). Thats the main reason why I disagree.
and again, code. Surely it will be different from crime as the crime notification dissappear once crime is over, not this one as its forever there once unattended.

Like cities skylines, when there is a fire, you dont have to do something. The fire engine goes automattically to the burning house

I like the idea, but if people are having this much trouble with traffic right now adding this may lead to some balancing issues. I like this idea mostly because it makes me feel a bit reminiscent of SC3K when you didn't find roads enough.

Stilll no, whats the purpose of this when you can not even do anything? Like, you just watched. Thats it. And watch take up your money and make game harder for a purpose you cannot do anything about.
