Any tips on how to start off a building with it? Plus any paint tools I should use since Im still new to it

I highly recommend to use multiple layers, some of them even only for construction purposes.

For example this are the outlines for the castle:

@BarkySharky I personaly like paint.net but there are some problems with it like: you cant fill perfectly, there is always some shading, like the line tool. I suggest you using gimp if you want more. Gimp is more complex than paint.net and it has a perfectly filling tool and a line tool. To understand how gimp works it takes long. But you can also fill patern wich is pretty useful. Different modes for your paint tool like the color mode with wich you overshade colors but the darkness stays the same

How many days do you bulid this Palace and are you paint.net in the Windows or Mac

I see no problem with paint.net because that's what I use and I haven't encountered a problem

On Windows, as Paint.net only runs there :P

It took a lot of hours, but I think not more than a single day. I often see the building, so I had not to look up construction that often.
