Royal Coast, a WIP Megalopolis City

note that this post was rewritten in january 2018 completely. Because I'm a screenshot moderator, it appears last edited in April 2017 because it doesn't count mod edits.

Welcome to Royal Coast, a work in progress project of a big, nicely designed conurbation.

The goal of the project is to design (entirely by myself) a big region in TheoTown, and make it look as realistic as possible. The whole conurbation will consist of many modern, realistic cities of different sizes, and the biggest one being Royal Coast City.

The project started in December of 2016, originally its goal was to make a big city on a giant map. The city was called Uteit. Later it was changed to Royal Coast Town and then Royal Coast. The project was later expanded to make a city on 9 giant maps in an imaginary 3x3 layout (regions did not exist yet). The city was going well until March 2017, when I accidentally deleted all my cities and plugins, without any backups. Since the end of 2017, the city is being rebuilt, and the project was expanded again, to not just feature the city, but a whole conurbation. There isn't any planned size for the conurbation currently, at the moment only Royal Coast City is being rebuilt.
When I finish Royal Coast City, I will start building next cities in the region. I will not work on many cities at once in this project.

Dude, the industrial zone you made is called the "Eco-Industrial Park/EIP", as you can see while searching it on Google

Scrapyard

So yeah, I made a Scrapyard which is kind of a landfill that collects scrap metal.

I improved the scrapyard when I discovered something:
If you destroy (into scrap) service buildings or trees, it doesn't conduct electricity. But the scrap from destroyed zone buildings conducts electricity. I used this (placed some ind buildings then burnt them) and don't need the power lines anymore.

When service buildings (fire police itp.) are destroyed because of a disaster, and they turn into scrap, it doesn't conduct electricity (of course). But when RCI buildings are destroyed, the scrap conducts electricity. :D

Just revived my city out of the disaster. If you didn't know:
Yesterday in RC some small creepy creatures stole all parked cars and in place of them made strange green circle-shaped symbols with colorful dots; the symbols resemble flower gardens. That was a terrible and dramatic disaster, and over 1/3 of RC inhabitants cry because they lost their cars. The Mayor (me) already destroyed all flower gardens and placed new parking lots on them. I am also giving brand new cars for habitants who lost them.
When I build the military base when Premium comes out, I hope it will protect me from disasters like this in the future.

What I really mean: in update 214 all parking lots got replaced with flower gardens.

Downtown!

Hey there!
I'm starting to work on downtown Royal Coast. This is how it looks for now

It may look ugly right now, but the concrete areas are temporary and will get eventually replaced with greenery and parks. It won't be a dense downtown. There will be large buildings, but a lot of green space between them. This is only a part of the downtown. In the future it will take more space.

The school is temporary, just for those residential towers :)
I'm not sure about the church yet, probably will move it elsewhere

Meanwhile, on the other side of the downtown, the Coastal University is open. I'm not an expert in building an University, so tell me how to improve it :roll:

It all started with reporting a bug where population wasnt correctly displayed :P

Added a football field in the university and added a fully upgraded stadium south of the university. It's the City Stadium of Royal Coast.

Downtown progress!

This is how the downtown looks right now. All spaces between skyscrapers will be made into parks, maybe with some small buildings. The railroad system will be probably changed...

Royal Coast East

The area of Royal Coast got extended to the east. The east part of the city will be mostly rural and will have lots of farmland. There will be some small towns scattered around. In the future I plan to extend Royal Coast to all directions, and make a megalopolis from 9 giant maps.

You're good at positioning railways. I don't usually build railways bcs it ruin the looks of my city, so I'm just doing some one way roads to fix the traffic :P

Tbh to make modern parks more....modern, add fountains around the statue and also the flooring is made up cements (don't forget to add trees) I usually call this a historical hero park

I'll try to make the historical hero park, but I'll use the statue from the parks instead of the mayor statue. I want to save it for something very special.

You may try to look at Malaysia National Monument for some inspirations, it's a bronze statue consists of 7 soldiers which represents those who fought for independence. The monument is also surrounded by fountains and trees

That's similar to what I've just done in the city, but mine is a statue of the founder of Royal Coast. I want to make a whole history of the city so stay tuned...

But you can look at its design, with the monument in the middle, surrounded by fountains, trees and many other decorations. It's pretty if you look at it closely
